The exposure triangle#
Aperture controls how wide the lens opens (and depth of field), shutter speed how long light falls on the sensor (and motion blur), and ISO how much the signal is amplified (and noise). Changing any one by one stop doubles or halves brightness — so you can trade between them while keeping the same exposure.
